A Midlands Business Centre and Self Storage company has received an award for excellence after being nominated by one of its tenants.

Squab Storage, which is headquartered in Leamington with other branches in Rubery and Evesham was named as family business of the year at this year’s Midlands Service Excellence Awards.

The company, led by Directors Emlyn Evans and Alex Henney, offers storage for companies and individuals and acts as a hub for companies in a range of sectors. The winners were nominated by start-up company, Swim in a Tin which offers swimming experiences where users swim against a current, in an ‘endless’ pool converted from storage containers.

Emlyn said: “It is fantastic to be named family business of the year and even more special after being nominated by one of our tenants. Squab has grown from pure storage to what it is today and we now cater for a wide variety of firms who trade from our centres, priding ourselves on providing a high-quality, personable service. We would also like to congratulate Swim in a Tin on their growth.”

Nick Timms, of Swim in a Tin, said: “Starting a new business is always a challenge and doing something that has not been done before requires more than just a landlord. Squab is a true partner to our business – they are accessible, supportive and dependable with a ‘can do’ attitude.“We would have been unable to launch our business without the assistance, encouragement and belief of Squab.”
