Outdoor Containers Would be Available for Storage at Former Police Station in Alloa, Clackmannanshire [Scotland]

Clackmannanshire Council has received an application from SRA Ventures Limited, who had also purchased the old cop house on Mar Place.

They had previously sought permission to change the use from the police station into a self-storage facility.

Now, an additional proposal has been lodged to add 20 outdoor containers to the rear of the property for residents to use.

A planning statement read: “The proposed storage units would be installed on an existing hardstand area in the rear corner of the site that would otherwise be unused and superfluous to the self-storage facility.

It is both reasonable and practical for the leftover hardstand space to be adapted to provide a commercial use serving the needs of the local community.”

Additionally, a two metre high automatic entrance gate has also been included in the plans to provide safety.

This ties into the full main planning application, which is yet to be decided on.

The full proposal can be found by searching 25/00082/FULL into the council’s planning portal.
