Magenta Self Storage Expansion Means More Flexible Storage, Office And Workspace For Reading

New facility breathes new life into an ‘old concrete giant’

Over the last couple of years, the self-storage industry has expanded exponentially – in the UK alone there are now more than 2000 facilities. With the average size of a self-storage facility now at 25,000 sq ft, the UK has 52 million sq ft of storage space available.

Magenta Self Storage has undergone substantial growth over the last two years, opening a new cutting-edge facility in Acton, West London in 2021 – and is now welcoming its sixth store in Reading.

While the Stirling Road facility in Acton, West London, was built from scratch to redevelop unused wasteland, the Reading store has been designed to breathe new life into an old concrete giant. Previously owned by Reading Council, the facility was a records storage building and used by the local museums to store artefacts.

Magenta’s green commitment and dedication to build a carbon-neutral brand are at the heart of its ethos. The Reading store is located just outside the A33 and close to both the Hilton hotel and Select Car Leasing stadium, making it easily accessible.

Magenta directors, Lara-Kate Jones, and Marietta-Louise Shaw said: “We are excited to launch our brand-new facility in Reading, providing a range of flexible storage, office, and workspaces. This store adds to our existing portfolio in Acton, Banbury, Nottingham, Oxford, and St Albans, combined with an additional six Magenta-managed stores placed across the country.

“The team have worked tirelessly to get this new store up and running in an area that was severely lacking in storage options. Our friendly, thorough, and dedicated staff are on hand to provide a seamless and efficient self-storage service.

“This year has seen us take a more active role in the family business, learning from our highly experienced father, Mark Shaw, who has been in the property industry for many decades. Along with a string of successful property-based companies, he established this self-storage business in 2005 and it has been inspiring to see it grow year on year.

“With the intention of building on its success and expanding the business further, we look forward to what the future holds for Magenta Self Storage.”

Providing solutions

Magenta provides solutions, embraces new technologies, and continues to exceed expectations. Reflecting on its growth and future ambitions now is the time to refresh its identity.

The company’s new look reaffirms its values and redefines its purpose. It’s more than just a visual change, it showcases that the brand is entering into a new era. The company’s signature bright pink logo has been redesigned with care and due diligence, to a modern monochrome logo, with icons representing the end-to-end service it offers.

The pink is still an integral part of the brand, highlighting key features and making illustrations pop. The new logo can be seen at the front of the building, as well as inside the new facility, where the reception area will be dramatically different from the other stores, not only featuring the new brand, but also a different desk and co-working space.

Lara-Kate and Marietta-Louise said: “We welcome you to join us on this exciting journey.”
