A self-storage company has expanded its footprint with a major acquisition.
Lock Stock Self Storage has purchased U Lock It in the north west, adding three locations to its network, including a site in Runcorn.
The other newly acquired sites are in Lostock and Wincham.
Mike Trow, operations manager at Lock Stock, said: “This is a significant investment for us and something we’re really pleased to have now completed.
“We’ve worked with U Lock It over the last few months to ensure a smooth transition for customers and everything is now in place as we take over the three new sites.
“Those arriving at the sites will notice changes to signage and branding over the next few weeks, but what won’t change is the excellent service provided to them previously – we’ll only work to enhance their experience.”
The acquisition brings Lock Stock’s total number of sites to 31, with more than 5,000 storage units now in operation.
The company began operating in Denbigh in 2000 and has since expanded across 24 towns and cities, making it the largest container storage provider in the UK.
The Runcorn site joins the recently opened Winsford location as part of the firm’s ongoing expansion across Cheshire and the wider north west.
Lock Stock has set a goal of opening 10 new sites by 2026.
With the addition of the three U Lock It sites and the Winsford location, it has already reached four of those targets by mid-2025.
