Plans have been submitted for the development of the former Matalan unit into a self-storage unit.
In December, planning permission was granted by Wiltshire Council to convert the former Matalan unit on Southampton Road into self-storage.
It will be occupied by company ‘Here Self Storage’, and will require work to the site before it opens.
The company wishes to construct additional roller shutter doors on the exterior, add a canopy over the unloading bay, add a vehicular access gate, replace doors and add a new fire egress door, a brick infill wall, add bollards in front of the building, reception glazing and sliding doors, paint the building facades and add a footpath to the unloading bay.
Matalan left Salisbury in April and an application was then made by the applicant, Mr. G.Glew, to develop the Class E Retail facility into a Class B8 (self-storage) unit.
