A storage business has announced the biggest expansion in its 100-year history, with two new premises.
B E Webbe have opened its second site in Derby and acquired £900,000 premises in Colwick, Nottingham, which will become its eighth self-storage depot.
The 45,000 sq ft Derby depot in Alfreton Road will support the existing facility at the head office in Mansfield Road and double the capacity of its Derby self-storage units.
The Colwick premises will complement its depot in Sherwood, Nottingham, and provide a further 47,000 sq ft of self-storage units in the city. Work has started on the new facility which is expected to open in the autumn.
Company director Richard Blount said: “In the last couple of years, both our Derby and Nottingham operations had experienced a large increase in the need for self-storage. So, we took steps to meet the demand.
“Our plans will strengthen our position as the leading removals and storage company in the East Midlands.
“We believe that the secret of our success is giving customers exactly what they want – a large choice of affordable units and the ability to access them, free of charge, to add or remove effects whenever they wish.”
B E Webbe was established as a removals and storage company in the 1920s and opened its first self-storage facility in Burton-on-Trent in 2005.
Since then, the company expanded its sites to Derby, Long Eaton, Mansfield, Nottingham, and Rotherham along with the two new depots in Derby and Nottingham.
