A NEW storage facility will open in Workington, allowing people to store caravans as ‘staycations’ boom in the UK.
Cumbria Storage Solutions has unveiled a new storage facility on an industrial estate in the town.
The company has taken over premises at Unit 6 Lowther Road, Clay Flatts following extensive renovation works including the installation of self-storage units within the main building.
The business also operates Cumbria Caravan Storage within the secured compound adjacent to the self-storage facility. Located within close proximity to the town centre and a 10-minute walking distance of the train station, this offering is aimed at those who have acquired motorhomes and caravans during the surge in popularity of ‘staycations’ here in the UK.
Directors Richard and Sarah Miller launched the new facility last year. They both grew up in the Wigton area and now live in Burgh-By-Sands, Carlisle.
Richard is a Partner in the largest law firm in Cumbria – Burnetts Solicitors.
He said: “We are delighted to open a self-storage and caravan storage facility in Workington and are really proud of the state-of-the-art premises that we have created here with the aim of helping a broad range of customers with all their storage needs.

Sarah Miller manages the day to day running of Cumbria Storage Solutions and Cumbria Caravan Storage alongside her other businesses, ‘Sarah’s Aesthetics Cumbria’ and ‘Sarah Miller: Events and Experiences Planner’ which is a weddings and events planning business.
She said: “Our premises are ideally located within a heavily secured dual compound which offers a safe space for our customers to hold their goods and caravans or motorhomes. We are one of the only storage businesses in Cumbria allowing access 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
“As well as giving Workington its first central storage facility, the convenient location on the Clay Flatts Industrial Estate means that we are ideally placed to support those who require storage in surrounding areas of west Cumbria.”
The storage facility is a bespoke design and specification for the company. The result is a modern and secure property providing 24-hour access to its customers.
Prioritising security for customers, the company has invested in a high end 4k Ultra HD CCTV camera system and LED sensor security lighting throughout the whole site. With flexible short-term arrangements being accommodated, customers can de-clutter indoors or make better use of their driveways.
