A former laundry site in Bath has been turned into a swanky self-storage facility with a “unique” feature. Vanguard Self Storage has been built on Lower Bristol Road, where Regency Laundry once stood.
Bath stone and bronze cladding has been used in the exterior of the building, which has been three years in the making.. Bosses say the design “pays homage to the city’s historic character while embracing modern design”.
The company says a restored Vampire T11 has been suspended in the atrium as part of its “commitment to creating unique spaces” and will create a “striking talking point” when the facility opens on Monday.
The building has 45,000 square feet of storage space across four floors. A 75kWp rooftop solar array will be used to offset energy consumption with other eco-friendly features including an electric vehicle charging bay and heating from air source heat pumps.
