Extra Room Self Storage is supporting the creation of 100 jobs with its expansion in Nuneaton.

A new self-storage unit in Redgate is set to open on 3 February in a building formerly occupied by Countrywide Farmers before it went into administration.

A 30,000 sq ft extension is being made to the Redgate facility, which now spans two floors and can provide an additional 500 storage units to the local area. The site will complement two existing stores in Fenny Drayton.

The new location is situated next to the A5 and A444, opposite The Redgate Pub. The facility is expected to serve businesses and households requesting storage units across Nuneaton, Hinckley and surrounding villages.

Mark Simpson, director at Extra Room Self Storage, said: “After months of planning and hard work, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our new facility in Redgate next month.

“We welcome the opportunity to support both business and domestic need for our storage units, in addition to supporting job creation and investment into the local area. We have seen rising demand for business use of self-storage, as online business growth demands adequate stock storage.

“Additionally, an increase in home working has led to further use of self storage for personal use, as homes are converted to have more space to house office spaces.

“Being less than a mile from the geographical centre of England, the new self storage facility at The Redgate will be the most centrally located self storage facility in the country. This offers a range of business support across the midlands. We additionally offer enhanced support for businesses which includes: acceptance of delivery, shelving and free forklift services.”

The expansion is forecast to boost the local economy by £5m and support the creation of 100 jobs.
