Plans have been submitted for signs to be installed as part of a plan to build a new self-storage facility on the site of a former linen factory, abandoned following a fire.

The plans, validated yesterday (Friday, December 8), seek permission to display three external illuminated signs and one non-illuminated fascia sign at 3 Rhodes Way, Watford.

The address is currently vacant after the Cottage Linin Factory was cleared following a fire in 2018.

In April this year, conditional permission was granted for the site to be redeveloped into a Karbon Self-Storage facility, covering 5,465sqm of floorspace.

External elevations, submitted at the time, showed ‘Karbon’ as the name featured on signs at the location.

Since then, a number of applications have been submitted with details of the development.

The new application features images of the proposed facility, and the signs which would adorn its walls.

No objections or comments have been made to the advertising plans.

All nine planning applications for the site can be viewed by using property reference 010094127634 on the Watford Borough Council planning portal.
