Permission Granted for Self Storage Centre

Planning permission has been granted to create a self storage centre at a site in Cardiff.

The application site concerns Tilcon Mortar Plant on Viking Place in Butetown.

Previously, it was used for the storage of aggregates and materials, along with a cement batcher and associated conveyor, a weighbridge and ancillary offices.

Proposed is a change of use to a self storage centre, which involves providing secure storage facilities for businesses and individuals, typically in standard shipping container units of a single colour, arranged in uniform rows.

The site comprises a vacant parcel of open land located within the Cardiff Port boundary.

The applicant is Container Team Ltd.

Cardiff Council has granted planning permission subject to conditions under delegated powers.
