Proposals to transform the site near the Head of Steam Museum have been submitted. A discount chain store in Darlington could be turned into a new self-storage facility if plans are approved. Application To Erect Self-Storage Containers At Gatebeck Approved

An application to erect 120 self-storage containers for access by members of the public has been approved by the district council. The series of 2.14m x 2.09m containers is to occupy a plot of land at Gatebeck, near Kendal. Two parking spaces are also to be created at the site – which customers will be able to access using codes.
